This holds a special place in my heart as I worked here for a couple years. Southport Landing is a historical sight. Back in the 1840"s  the Landing property was  bought & owned by Charles Heney with his intention of  his Warf becoming a regular steamer service between San Francisco & Eureka, a seasonal trade moving crops to market, and a vital link between inland farms and coastal shipping. For a time it did flourish. Now it is a bed and breakfast. I painted this during the Humboldt Plein Air Open Paint Out, Sept. 2024.
